"I'm in construction and my wife's a witch - she speaks to dead people!"
This is my husband introducing me to people I don't know. For some reason I find it hilarious. It's an icebreaker of sorts I guess and while I'm laughing loudly and those new acquaintances are nervously tittering away it gives them time to decide what they want to do with that information. Do they flee the scene or are they intrigued enough to want to know more. I'd say 80% are exceedingly polite and then make a run for it and 20% want every blinding detail. As judgmental, ignorant and probably fearful as people choose to be of the unknown, it is neither my business nor concern so I'm not particularly fussed with others' opinions of what I do for a crust. Run or stay, it all works.
Does that mean I'm a woo-woo weirdo? I mean, there is still a "fortune telling stigma" attached to the word psychic isn't there, so I must be a bit odd. Actually I see myself as a pretty average person trying to get through life as unscathed as possible. I remember listening to a well known psychic medium being interviewed on local radio and the announcers were fascinated that this man looked like a regular, every day plumber. I'm not sure what they were expecting, but funnily enough we are mostly pretty regular people leading very standard lives. No different to those people you bump into in the bank, the supermarket or the local pub; the people you would label as "normal".
So while that "normal" person is out and about, what happens on the intuitive front. Everyone thinks you're reading their mind and they get edgy and cautious. It really isn't the case. I think firstly you should know that for the most part I need to turn that intuitive station on and for me that requires more effort than just hanging about so, unless I'm working, I am mostly switched off. And also because when I'm out for lunch on a sunny day, I just want to be out for lunch on a sunny day. It's not to say that I can't read while I'm lying on the beach watching the world go by, I just choose not to. I like to put my closed for business sign up as much as anyone else. Having said that, I do have a penchant for a murder mystery, so if I'm reading an article or watching a news story of someone missing, murdered or accused of murder I'll often check out my inner GPS and see what's what.
When I'm making decisions or organising things that have an affect on my own life, I will switch it on. That's not to say I haven't made some really shitty decisions over my time, but I also know that if I'd kicked intuitive me into gear I probably could have saved myself a whole lot of money, time and pain over the years. But that's life though isn't it; it's not meant to be mastered too soon and I am still human. Occasionally I need to be intuitive about being intuitive.
Like a slow cooked braised oxtail, intuition needs to develop over time. You don't get it all holus bolus when you "wake up" to the fact you can do this psychic thing. It takes many years and is forever evolving. Even today, right before I had a reading, I was told I had been fast-tracked. I've been skipped over 4 or 5 levels to get where I need to be. What are the 4 or 5 levels? I have no idea, but apparently my guides need me somewhere and they know I can do it. Whatever that means, it sounds pretty cool and I'm ready for that. It shows me I've started somewhere, I'm continually developing and I have a lot more to learn. I am generally a "do it instantly" kind of person so slow cooking development should drive me insane. The thing is, the learnings are so unexpected and perfectly timed that it couldn't be any other way. It's mysteriously fascinating to me and I think it keeps me sharp (and intrigued).
On that impatient note, something else I was told today was I was getting another Ascended Master soon. The kicker is they said "soon in 1-2 years". For someone who has patience as one of their life lessons, that's almost funny. It sounds like spirit having a good old laugh at my expense. My last Ascended Master took 2 or 3 years to come in. I was told nearly every time I meditated that my Ascended Master was coming soon. I heard it so often, I stopped listening and then one day he just appeared, like someone late for dinner. He's nowhere to be seen or heard and then poof out of smoke he's arrived front and centre. So next time you think that whatever you're waiting for should have happened by now know that Divine Timing has it's own schedule and it's rarely the same as ours. We gotta get life done in time, not quickly!
We are all intuitive, I am not special or weird, I just happen to use what's there for the taking and you can too so get into it, it's a useful way to live.
